Documents Required for admission

The learner must be ready with the scanned copy/soft copy (jpg. or jpeg. files) of the original documents, which will be required to be uploaded while registering on-line for admission to vocational programmes.

Items Documents required
Educational Qualifications Highest qualification marksheet (i.e. class 5, class 8, class 10 or class 12th) or Self Certificate (in case of literate)*.
Age Proof Valid proof for Date of Birth (such as Aadhaar Card with date of birth printed on it in the dd/mm/ yyyy format, Passport, Voter Id, Driving License and Birth Certificate etc.).
Proof of Permanent Address A valid proof of Residence (such as Aadhaar Card with complete address printed on it/ Water Bill/ Electricity Bill/Voter ID/Ration Card/Indian Passport/Statement of Operational Bank Account/ Appointment Letter from the Employer on Printed Letter Head, if living in rented accommodation, copy of any recognised proof of permanent address along with present rent agreement).
Other Important Documents
  • Recent passport size color photograph.
  • Signature on a white paper (preferably in Black Ink).
  • Valid identity proof (such as Aadhaar Card or passport or ration card or voter–id card etc.).
  • Social category/caste certificate (in case the learner belongs to SC/ST/OBC category).
  • BPL certificate (in case the learner belongs to the BPL category).
  • Ex-serviceman certificate (in case he/she is an Ex-serviceman).
  • Disability certificate (in case he/she is having any kind of disability).

* A student who possesses a High School/Secondary Certificate from a Foreign Board/University, seeking admission to NIOS Vocational Education courses will be required to produce a certificate that the examination passed by him/her is equivalent to the Indian High School/Secondary School Examination. Equivalency certificate may be obtained from the Association of Indian Universities, Kotla Road, New Delhi 110002.

(i) In case of Orphan/Juvenile/Street Children, the Medical Legal Certificate may be provided as proof of Date ofBirth.
(ii) Please state the correct date of birth. Date of birth once given in the Admission Form can not be changed.
